Paul H. Toffel, M.D. is Clinical Professor of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery, at the University of Southern California School of Medicine. He is board certified in , Head, Neck and Otolaryngology Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He was one of the first North American surgeons to learn endoscopic nasal and sinus techniques from the German pioneers. He modified these techniques to evolve the "Secure Technique" which is featured in the textbook Current Therapy in Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery as a standard of care.

Dr. Toffel has taught his method of endoscopic sinus surgery at universities and military medical centers throughout the United States, Europe and Latin America. He is a consultant for American and German instrument companies on continued development of endoscopic equipment and surgical systems.

Dr. Toffel was called upon to represent the specialty of Otolaryngology at the consensus conference chaired by the Director of the National Institute of Health for Allergic Diseases on the application of endoscopic sinus surgery to related areas of medicine. His article appeared in the Journal of Respiratory Diseases.

Dr. Toffel has served as National Chairman for postgraduate courses for the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, and also on the national credential committees of both major Otolaryngologic Academies. He has served as President of the American Rhinological Society and is on its Board of Directors. He also served as the Chairman of the Sinus and Otolaryngology Surgery Departments at the nationally recognized Daniel Freeman Medical Center in Southern California.
